The taste perception in the technokitsch restaurants

 

This research focuses on taste perception in atmospheres that blend
virtual interior design with avant-garde cuisine. The aim was to
demonstrate that technological atmosphere of a space can eventually
change the perception of taste. For that, some experiments has been
made to observe the effects that the atmospheric elements produced
in the tasting. It has devised an atmosphere called Eden that contain
projections on the wall and on the table, music, tableware specially
designed for the occasion and external odors. Thus it was obtained
the information necessary to perform this dissertation and verify the
hypothesis of multimedia technologies capacity to alter our perception
of taste. So far, these technological gustatory experiences, have been
used as a business claims to convert a restaurant in a multimedia show.
But alternatively also can be used as a therapeutic tool. Hence the
importance of this research.
